Burnaboy is confirmed to perform during the 63rd #GRAMMYs Award Premiere Ceremony which will take place Sunday, March 14. This year’s Annual Grammy Awards ceremony which was supposed to take place on January 31, 2021, but later postponed to March 14, will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Trevor Noah will be the host.BurnaBoy who has also performed at the BET awards(US) , Brits awards(UK) main stage, is the first Nigerian artiste to earn back to back Grammy nominations after his album ‘Twice as Tall’ was nominated for the same category at this year’s 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.
BurnaBoy is putting Nigeria on the global map for positive achievement in the music industry. With this confirmation, the Nigerian international star will also be the first-ever afrobeat act to perform at the Grammy Awards Ceremony.
Burna Boy whose real name is Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu is one of the biggest and most successful musicians in Africa. OluwaBurna as he is fondly called has worked with the likes of Beyoncé, Ed Sheeran, Stormzy, Sauti Sol, Chris Martin, Stefflon Don, Wizkid, Dave, Jorja Smith, Angelique Kidjo, Sia, Youssou N’Dour, Sam Smith, and Damian Marley.
Beyoncé received the most nominations with nine, followed by Lipa, Roddy Ricch, and Taylor Swift with six each.
Hopefully, one day an Indigenous Musician from Nigeria will lay his or her hands on the World’s famous Grammy Awards.
