The controversial official of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Philomena Chieshe, who claimed that the missing N36 million (Thirty Six Million Naira) JAMB proceeds in her custody was swallowed by a snake in Makurdi, Benue State JAMB office, will be arraigned before the court of law today, Friday, May 31, 2019 by the
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Philomena who made headlines last year in March 2018, with her rather funny and unheard claims, that a mysterious snake swallowed about N35million cash arising from sale of e-JAMB cards in the state, will be arraigned before Justice Peter Afen of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Abuja,
alongside five others, namely: Daniel Agbo, Yakubu Jekada, Samuel Umoru, Priscilla Ogunsola, and Aliyu Yakubu.
Chieshe’s action is contrary to Section 139 (a) of the Penal Code Law.
However, she will be prosecuted by the EFCC on an eight-count charge, following her refusal to furnish the management of JAMB the true information on the financial status of JAMB e-cards supplied to the Benue Zonal office between 2014 and 2016.
